Halifax Music Heritage Trail

I make no claim to be an expert on the history of who has played in the town or the venues that have come and gone. The trail just does what it can to help keep memories alive. The trail is dedicated to Trevor Simpson whose work & enthusiasm to keep Halifax’s music heritage alive was the inspiration. Trevor did countless walks with me & I never tired of hearing him tell the stories of past rock ‘n’ rollers.

You’ll hear about the fascinating and surprising history of Halifax from the mid 1950s onwards. Expect to hear tales of Shirley Bassey, Dusty, Donovan, The Kinks, Pulp, The Jacksons, John Grant and many more as we visit many of the venues of yesteryear.

Guided tours usually take place only a couple of times a year when we visit  the site of the old venues. The tour takes place outside so dress for the weather!

Meet at Grayston Unity. The annual guided tour is delivered by Michael.

Tickets are £7 buy from the Grayston Unity or pay on the day (cash only).
