THE POT O FOUR

‘The Pot’ as this pub/venue was known was the place for punks and alternative music loving folks to go. It lasted until the early 1990s and was a venue for local bands. It’s therefore worth remembering that the only band ever to have sessions for John Peel’s radio programme, Chinese Gangster Element played there on a number of occasions. It also hosted gigs by a favourite of Peel, Bogshed and also English Dogs, a Halifax band cited as an influence by members of Metallica.
